Nature's Plus Vitamin Coupons

If you go to the Nature's Plus website and register they will send you some coupons in the mail. It's 4 different coupons worth $11. Unfortunately, they're not good on their Animal Parade line which is one of the vitamins I give my son and why I went to their site looking in the first place.

Target Deals

I am not a big fan of Target these days. I have a really hard time finding what I need in their Super Target stores but they do have some great buys this week:

First, use this $1.00 Rayovac coupon get batteries for free. The batteries are $1.00 and can be found in the $1.00 bins located at the front of the store.

Second, SoyJoy bars are marked down to $0.47. I used a $2 off $10 coupon from the Sunday ads and got 10 bars for $2.70.

Walgreens Diaper Deal

I have not tried this but plan to today...

Walgreens Brand diapers are B1G1 this week

They are also a monthly deal…$2 off when you buy 2. Page 53 of the November EasySaver catalog (no coupon needed)

So, that’s 60 diapers (30 per pack) for $6.99, or 0.12 cents each diaper.

The math: $8.99 B1G1 - $2.00 when you buy 2= $6.99 for 2 packs.

Additionally, If you have the other coupon given out by the pharmacy acouple of months back then you get another $2 off of each pack!

$8.99 B1G1 - $2.00 when you buy 2 - $4.00 ($2.00 of each pack) = $2.99 for 60 diapers or 0.12 cents per diaper.

Freepeats Tampa

Freepeats Tampa is here!!!

Member registration is NOW OPEN for Tampa-area residents! Just go to Freepeats.org and click on "join." You'll get instant full access to FREE gently-used baby, kid, and maternity items in your area. Maternity clothes, too! The first Freepeats forum opened last November, and since then members have picked up free formula, swings, bouncers, strollers, toys, coupons and more. Join through November 16 and enjoy free lifetime membership. Join after November 16 and pay a nominal, one-time lifetime membership fee of $4.95.

Freepeats is a great way to get free baby, kid and maternity items, but it's really the offer posts that make it work. Freepeats is a super-easy way to clear the clutter and get rid of items you don't need. You'll feel great knowing that your items are going to other families who need them. You don't even have to load up the car and take the stuff anywhere!

Are there are a few books your toddler doesn't read any more? Some unexpired formula samples you never needed? An outgrown high chair taking up room in the closet? The Tampa-area forum just opened, so it will take a few member offer posts to get it going. I hope you'll consider posting an offer today. You can post just about any gently-used baby, kid, or maternity item (except for car seats and crib mattresses), formula sample, or baby coupon. It only takes a few seconds.

If you're already a member of Freepeats Orlando, and would like to be added to the Tampa group as well, just email me.

Freepeats works best when there's a large local membership. Please forward this email to all the parents you know and post it on all your local parenting message boards so other Tampa parents can join Freepeats during the free membership period! If you have any questions, feel free to drop me a line at angie@freepeats.org.

Happy Freepeating!

scrapbooking in paradise garage sale

Scrapbooking in Paradise
2008 fall Garage Sale

Back by popular demand is the SIP garage sale. Do you have gently used Scrapbooking or Stamping supplies or tools that you no longer have a need for? This is your chance to sell them at our Scrapbooking and Stamping store. Join us for our "garage sale". This is a great event we offer where you can rent space at the store and sell your items "garage sale" style. You may choose either an indoor table or outdoor space (covered to protect in case of rain) to sell your items. Lots of customers have been asking when we are going to host one again so they can come out and shop. Here are the details.

It will be on Saturday November 1st from 9AM till 2PM. You can rent 4 feet of indoor table space for $10.00 and the table and chair are included, or for $5.00 you get 4 feet of outdoor space (in front of the store entrance) and you must bring your own table. We do have chairs if you need them. This is a cash only event and you are responsible for all transactions. Please bring cash so you can make change for your sales. If you own items from direct-sale companies, then you may sell them, but this event is not for direct-sale vendors. This event is only for consumers who are looking to sell their own personal items. You can come as early as 8:30 on the day of the event to set up. We will also have a runner at lunch time to pick up food for those of you renting a space. This way you do not have to leave your area, as you are responsible for your area and product.

Some basics,,,

All tools must be in working condition. Please no broken product. If you are selling "partial" product such as a partial sticker sheet, etc. then it must be clearly marked as such. All product must be marked with a price. I suggest going to an office store and picking up a package of pricing labels and some shopping bags. You may rent up to 2 spaces if you would like to.

Sign up fast as we sold out of space very quickly last time. SIP will advertise the event for you. This is a great way to sell your gently used items and make a little cash for yourself.

Going digital

Many people don't know all TV broadcasts will be digital starting in Feb 2009 . That means if you're like me and have a hand me down TV with bunny ears it will cease to function. The FCC has faced some criticism for not doing enough to educate the public so feel free to pass this on to anyone you know who might be affected. Non english speakers, the elderly and those without access to the internet are especially likely to be affected.

The government is offering a rebate program for $40 or $80 to cover the cost of a converter box. You can go to this website for the details and to sign up. It takes about a month to get yours in the mail. I just got mine.

Also, remember TV's and electronic equipment can't go in the regular trash. If you live in Pinellas County you can go to their website for recycling and disposal information including mobile collection sites.

From Julie

My friend Julie sent the following to me. You could go to the Hot Coupon World Albertson's Thread to find out where coupons can be found to make these deals even sweeter!

Also Fiber One, Nature Valley & Curves Granola Bars are included

More CVS Airwick and nail polish

I made 2 trips to CVS today. At the first store I only purchased 2 Sally Hansen Nail polishes. For some reason the same coupon I used yesterday that gave me 3 polishes for $3.00 only gave me 2 today. Each store seems to do things their own way and it's very frustrating! The first store was out of Air Wick so I only purchased the polishes and a bag of M&M's for the overage. I spent $0.32 oop.

At the second CVS store I purchased 3 more Air Wick Mini kits ($4.99 on sale with a $4.00 QPN to make each one $0.99). However, I messed this up and took 3 Air Wick QPNs but 2 were for only $3.00 off and 1 was for $4.00 off. I may return the 2 that cost more and then purchase more using the right coupon. It was sill a good deal just not as good as I was expecting. I also purchased the CVS brand make-up removing wipes. I had a $2.00 off QPN and a $3/$15. My total oop was a little over $3.00. I was expecting to spend $1.00 and some change. I also earned $1.00 ECB for the make-up remover cloths.

On a totally different note I emailed Apple & Eve about their products and asked where I could find certain products. They were nice enough to send me lots of coupons. One is for a free Apple & Eve product and another $3.50 in money off QPNs. YEAH! Up until recently I never contacted companies to ask for QPNs but every one I have contacted has followed through in sending me some of their QPNs. Mighty Milk even sent me full sized samples of their products.

CVS Airwick, Photo book, and nail polish. Oh My!

I had a good day at CVS today. I did 2 separate transactions. In the first I had some IP coupons for Airwick Minis for $4.00 off. They were on sale for $4.99. I bought 3 and used a $3/$15 CVS coupon. This would have given me overage so I added a 6x8 photo book for $7.99. I used a $3.00 off mfg coupon making my OOP $6.36. I was not able to use my ECBs on this because I scanned the wrong card. So, I just paid it out of pocket. I earned $7.99 ECb on the photo book.

For my second transaction I bought a twin 12 oz pack of Clear Care Saline solution and 3 Sally Hansen Tough as Nails polish. For the Clear Care I earned $3.00 ECB and will send in for the $9.00 rebate. For the nail polish I used a $3.00 off when you by 2 Sally Hansen nail products. For some reason I was only able to use the coupon for $2.97. Probably because it was on sale for $0.99. So, the coupon was for more than the total cost of the product. That's the first time I have had CVS reduce the amount of a coupon but I still got the nail polish for free. I also added a $1.49 hot wheels car for my son who was along with me for this trip. I needed something as filler because the ECBs I had to spend were more than my total. I used another $3/$15coupon and ended up spending just $1.37 OOP.

After I receive my rebate for $9.00 I will have made money on these deals. Just $1.27but I still earned $10.99 EC and have another $3.00 ECB from my transaction earlier this week.

Lori's Post

Blogger seems to be eating Lori's post so ere is one from her...

A couple of weeks ago I was able to get free band aids plus overage at Target by taking advantage of their store coupon for $5.00 off when you buy three of the following products including band aids. I already had 3 $1.00 off any band aids coupons & they were $1.98 for the character ones so I "made" $2.00 on the deal plus got enough bandaids for lots of boo boo's to come. The Target coupon is good through 07/31/08.
Today I got a .01 cent overage on Mentos gum at Publix. It was $1.09 & I used a .55 cent manufacturers coupon as well as their Publix coupon for .55.

CVS Clear Care

CVS has Clear Care Saline Solution, the only stuff I can use, at $14.99 for 12oz twin bottles. It earns $3.00 ECB. Not a great price on Clear Care but it is when you use the Clear Care Rebate and get $9.00 back. The rebate must be purchased before July 31, 2008and mailed by August 31, 2008. I have already done this rebate once and it took about 4 weeks for y check to com but it did arrive!

.

CVS

I went to CVS this past Saturday to try and make some deals. I had $10 in ECB and retrieved another $10 in ECB from the machine in the store from a survey I completed a few weeks back and another $0.50 in ECB that the machine printed just because.

Here is what I bought:

2 Dawn Ultra, B1G1 with a $1.00 MFG QPN
1 Olay Regenerist lotion, $1.00 MFG QPN
1 Olay Daily Regenerist Scrub, $1.00 MFG QPN
1 Olay Daily Renewal Cleanser, $1.00 MFG QPN
1 Dawn Simple Pleasures, on clearance for $2.99, $1.00 MFG QPN
2 Sure Deodorants, 2 - $1.00 MFG QPN
1 Nestle Frozen Crunch bar for the hubby

I used 1 CVS $4/$20 and 1 CVS $3/$15, $20.50 in ECB.

I spent $1.56 OOP and earned $13.00 in ECB. I saved $40.78!

The ECB I earned came from $1.00 on the 2 Dawn Ultras, $3.00 on the Sure Deodorant, and $10.00 for spending $20 on Olay products.

YEAH!!

Publix Free Olay Regenerist Facial Scrub

At the Publix at Curlew and Hwy 19 I found 1 bottle of Olay Regenerist Facial Scrub on the clearance rack for $4.49. I used a $3.00 mfg qpn and a $2.00 Publix qpn and got it for free. Publix reduced one qpn to $1.49 so I still had to pay tax. This was the second time I found this product marked down. Last week it was still on the shelf but was discounted to $5.99. I bought one then for $0.99. I really like the cleanser and love getting it for free!!

Send your kid to college with your grocery spending

So we finally signed Finn up for a 529 college savings plan. It was time consuming to choose the right one. I did find some info that I thought would be of interest to a larger group.

When you shop for things like groceries and at CVS, you can get contributions made to your 529 account via the Upromise program. You can even get your family members to sign up and their purchases will count too. You might have seen their logo, a U inside a box on some of the groceries you've been buying. That was my intro to their program.

There are 4 different credit card programs that will link to your 529 account and deposit 1 or 1.5% of all your purchases. Those are Fidelity American Express (must be linked to a Fidelity 529), Citibank Upromise card, Baby Mint, and Future trust. Most of these will also give you considerably more than 1% on certain purchases or from certain retailers. They are all annual fee free cards.

If you're thinking about a private college, check out the sage scholars program. These schools match your deposits like a prepaid tuition plan.

More Walgreens Deals

I had a great day at Walgreen's. I did this deal that Rachael described and got 3 packs of pull ups (size 2t-3t) for $5.52, including tax. I was worried about these being too big for my little guy. He is still in 18 month clothes even though he is 2 years old but the 2t was the smallest size this Walgreen's had so I took a chance figuring that he would grow into them if they were too big. I was not planning on ever buying pull ups but James has started pulling off his diaper and a friend suggested that we try them. The good news is that they do fit. Only time will tell if he keeps them on or not.

I added another deal to the mix today while I was there. The Off Cutter 1 ounce bottles are 2 for $3.00 this week at Walgreen's. I used a $1.00 off coupon from the newspaper (6/15, sorry I don't know whether is was Red Plum or Super Saver) and combined that with a $1.00 off QPN from the Walgreen's Super Saver July book. I was able to use that one twice so for free I purchased 2 - 1 ounce bottles of the Cutter spray. YEAH!!

I spent just $5.52 for 87 pull ups and 2 - 1 ounce bottles of Off Cutter bug repellent!

I plan to go back tomorrow and use my $5.00 in Register Rewards to do the diaper deal again.

Gerber coupons

Lots of coupons on the Gerber site.

earths best coupon

They have 2 coupon options on their website.

birdseye coupon

I'm a big vegy eater so I'm always looking for coupons for those but there aren't many options. Birdseye has this one.

Finlandia cheese coupons

I've been buying the Finlandia Muenster cheese for my little guy. If you go to their website you can sign up for their deli news and get 2 $1 off coupons and also print a mail in rebate offer for more coupons. As an FYI, cheese from the EU is as good as US organic dairy products which is why I've been choosing this brand.

Free Tank Top

I never shop there because it's a store for teens and twenty-somethings but Wet Seal is giving away free tank tops. Here is the link to the coupon.

Thanks to Green Stew for the link!

Wedgie Free Wednesday

I don't often (okay never that I can remember) post pictures of my underwear on the Internet. But I just had to share. After months of entering the Hanes Wedgie Free Wednesday Sweeps I finally won! They don't tell you that you won they just send you a pair of panties. So, I received mine today! I was so excited but I laughed when I opened them.

YES they really are THAT BIG!

Every time, with the exception of last week, I selected the bikini version. Last week they were out of those so I thought I selected the hi-cut brief. I guess I selected the full coverage granny pantie!

Needless to say my husband is not amused but man are they comfortable!

Target Deals

Thanks to Hot Coupon World I found some great deals at Target on Gulf to Bay in Clearwater.

I had several Ziploc coupons. Near the cash register there were 25 count bags of sandwich size Ziploc for $1.00. I used a 55 cents off, a 40 cents off, a $1.00 off (so one package was free) and a $1.50 off when you buy 2. Total I purchased 5 25-count packages for $1.55. The regular price for 100 bags is $2.74.

I also purchased a package of Soleil Razors for 43 cents. They were marked down to $4.43 and I used the $4.00 QPN from this past Sundays paper.

Every time I go to Target or Walmart I take some of the Muir Glen Organic Tomato QPNs. I had 3 QPNs on me today and got each can of Tomato sauce for just 24 cents.

Finally I bought some of the Pampers Splashers. They were priced at $9.99 but I had a Target QPN from Sundays paper for $2.00 and a Mfgr. QPN for $1.50 making the total $6.49.

I also made a trip to Toys R Us and used the free train QPN. I got lucky with the cashier. He let me do 2 transactions so I was able to purchase 2 trains today and only had to pay 77 cents in tax for eah train. YEAH!

Thanks to iMommies for the link!

Edit: FYI, I was not able to print this on a wireless network. My computer guru husband think it was encoding in the TRU web page that messed up the printing. I was able to print only when directly connected to the computer.

CVS

I went to CVS this afternoon. I had $25 in ECBs to spend and there were some deals for products that I use and need.

I purchased:

1 Almay Mascara $6.99
1 Almay Mascara (50% 0ff) $3.49
1 Tylenol Extra Strength $4.49
2 Oral-B Power Toothbrush $5.99
3 St. Ives Facial Scrub $4.49

QPNs I used:

2 - $1.00 of Almay
BIGIF Oral-B
$1.00 off Tylenol
and a CVS $4 off when you spend $20

I used all my ECBs and $2.92 out of pocket (OOP)

Here are the ECBs that I earned today:

$5.00 on Almay Mascara(I only got it on one because the other was 50% off)
$2.00 on Tylenol
$5.00 on St. Ives cleanser
$6.00 on Oral-B Toothbrush ($3.00 ECB for each one)

I also had several CVS coupons that printed. They include 2 $2.00 off Zyrtec coupons, $2.00 on Banana Boat Suncare, and $3.00 on CVS Cetirizine D.

Not a great day but not a bad one either! I plan to go back and get the Sally Hansen Nail product and 2 more of the Oral-B cross action toothbrushes.

Edit: I had to go back to a drug store this evening so I went back to CVS and did one more deal. I purchased 2 Sally Hansen Color Lock Nail colors for $7.99, with a $3.00 off coupon when you buy 2. It generated $10 in ECB. I also purchased some calcium citrate for $10.49. I used all of my ECBs from the first transaction today and then paid $1.47 OOP.

Publix - Hungry Man Dinners

I was looking around Coupon World for good deals before I went out to do my weekly grocery shopping. I found this great link to a Hungry Man dinner coupon. It's actually entry into a sweepstakes but after you enter you can print a $1.00 off any Hungry Man dinner. The dinners are currently B1G1F at Publix so I used 2 of the $1.00coupons and got 2 dinners for $1.29. I would not normally buy these dinners but the deal was good enough so I did. I may go back and get some more. I was not sure the cashier would take both coupons bu she did. I know some people have found other coupons fr the dinners but this was all I could find.

The cashier did kick back one of my coupons that was expired. She told me they will take Publix expired coupons but not manufacturer coupons that are expired.

My over all savings was good. I used $17.05 in coupons and another $25.56 in store savings. I still spent $87.63 but there were a lot of things I needed that I didn't have coupons for and I had to pay full price. It kills me to do that now!!

What should a diaper cost

I hate paying too much for diapers or even worse not knowing if I am getting a good deal or not. I use to buy Pampers Cruisers exclusively at Sam's because I saw a TV show a few years back that said the wholesale cubs, like Sam's and Costco, were the best place to buy diapers because they would have the cheapest price. Well, you can imagine my surprise when I found the exact same diapers box (same size and number of diapers) at Publix for the same price and Publix allows coupons. Sam's does not.

Since I made this discovery I have been on a mission to buy diapers at the cheapest price possible. I buy Proctor and Gamble Pampers but am willing to switch between the Cruisers (my preferred) and the Baby Dry. I had a bad experience with Huggies and try to stay away from them but for the right price I might consider switching.

I hate how in the Sunday circulars each week, the stores never list the exact size and quantity they advertise as being on sale. For instance the flier will list a mega box as being on sale but they don't ever tell you how many are in the mega box so you can not price compare and determine if it's the best price.. This makes it really hard to know if your getting a good deal or not. Angie at Baby Cheapskate has simplified the process for Premium Diapers and Luvs by putting the quantity for each type of box (mega, super ega, jumbo, etc.) in a spread sheet.

How many diapers per pack?

Thanks Angie!!

Adjustable Waist Shorts for Boys

I bought 3 pairs of shorts from WalMart on Wednesday because they were only $2.50 each. They are made of a heavy duty light weight denim like fabric. They have pockets on the sides (cargo short style) with a button waist and zipper. I bought size 18 mon thinking James would grow into them. I was delighted when, after washing them, I realized they have an adjustable waist and it's adjustable to a very small size. James is 24 months old and tall but skinny so buying shorts or pants for him is challenging. The 12 month size shorts fit in the waist but are too short in the length and the 24 month size shorts fall off him. The shorts I bought at WalMart seem to fit him well both in the waist and in length and they will grow with him. For $2.50 I thought it was a great deal.

If you are thinking about buying some the shorts were in the baby section and on clearance at the Super WalMart on Tampa Road. They are "George" brand and were available in 3 colors, navy blue, dark brown, and tan.

I read on another blog that the Garanimal t-shirts for boys were marked $2.50 on clearance but ring up for $1.00. I scanned the only shirt I could find and it was $2.50 but I am going to try another WalMart today. I have bought the Garanimal shirts before and they hold up well.

UPDATE: I went to another WalMArt today (Friday) and found the same shorts I bought yesterday for $2.00 a pair. They were not clearance like the ones I bought on Wednesday but when I did a price check they were 50 cents cheaper than the ones I bought on Wednesday. YEAH!! Unfortunately, I was not able to locate any clearance priced Garanimals shirts but I did find some FSU shirts that were marked way down so I got James one of those.

Stonyfield Farms Sippy Cup

A couple of months ago Stonyfield farms was offering a free sippy cup with 2 UPCs from any of their YoBaby products and $1.00 for s/h. I sent off 2 UPCs from their YoKids Yogurt tubes (not the YoBaby yogurt) and they still honored the offer and sent me a great sippy cup. The offer is gone from their web site but I found 4 UPC codes from the YoKids Yogurt tubes so I emailed them and received this prompt reply:

Hello Stacy,

Thank you for your interest in Stonyfield Farm. Yes, we are still doing the sippy cup offer for 2 upc and $1. To participate please send to

I am sending one envelope with 4 UPCs and 2 checks for $1 each. (I had already written the first check when I found second set of UPCs.) I hope to get back 2 sippy cups. They were super fast with the last cup they sent so I hope it will be the same this time.

I love Stonyfield products! We drink their milk and eat their yogurt. We eat the YoKids Squeezers yogurt tubes, the individual serving cups and the big 32 oz containers of the whole milk vanilla and plain yogurts. Their customer service has been great with any questions. Additionally, they have already addressed the BPA issue in the containers they use. You can find that information on their web site.

Save some $, use less energy - Line dry your clothes

Just got done hanging my laundry and there were emails from www.laundrylist.org. Since the abundant Florida sunshine has started it's an obvious way to cut down on the electricity bill.

The blurb below came from
www.walletpop.com/2008/03/07/2008-comeback-stories-clotheslines-live-and-let-dry/

2008 Comeback Stories: Clotheslines, live and let dry!
by Sarah Gilbert Mar 7th 2008 @ 4:15PM
Filed under: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Simplification

This post is part of our series on people, places and things than have found new life in 2008.

When I'm bored, I come up with taglines for the clothesline movement. They have "right to dry," but I prefer the very British "Hang it all!" or the Bondsian "Live and let dry."

The clothesline movement? You might be asking. Umm, we need one of those? Yes, yes we do. You see, it comes down to this idea in the middle of the 20th century in America that the ownership of a machine to do -- well, anything -- was a banner of respectability. Washing dishes, blending your non-dairy whipped topping, mowing your lawn, drying your clothes: power 'em with fossil fuels or be one of the unwashed masses.

We don't want that in our neighborhoods, said the rather small-time powers-that-be, and many communities wrote a ban on outdoor clothes drying along with the removal of livestock and various more hateful bans. One such neighborhood was Awbrey Butte, Oregon, where a resident was threatened with legal action when she chose to flout the CC&Rs and hang her clothes out to dry in the plentiful warm summer sun. She might have done better with this fanciful (and spendy) clothes drying "tree."

Watch out, neighborhood boards, homeowner associations, town councils. Because the clothesline is coming back. Many of my friends now consider the last rains of spring to herald "drying weather," and extoll the fresh scent of line-hung laundry, along with the savings on their power bill and the nice feeling of appropriate use of one's precious resources. And if you want my opinion? I like the way clothes look, hung out to dry. The comeback of clotheslines is a win, win, win!

Aubrey Organics

There aren't exactly a lot of opportunites to put the treatise of buy local into action in pinellas county since nothing's made here but there is this cosmetics co. in Tampa, Aubrey Organics. I've always bought their baby body wash for Finn and really like it.

You can find their products at health food stores.

If you sign up for their newsletter, they'll send you coupons for their online store.

Rumor has it that Publix will have a $5 off when you spend $35 in this weeks mailing. It is good until July 30th. I really hope we get this here in Florida. Publix offers 1 cent deals and doubles and triples coupons in other states but not here in Florida.

Editted to add...nope, no coupon here in Florida. Knowing that Publix offer such great deals elsewhere but not here in the State where they are based makes me want to quit shopping there!

I don't remember where I found the link to this but wanted to pass it on. When James and I went to the mailbox this afternoon we found a package from Juicy Juice. They sent us a sippy cup just for signing up for their kids club. The timing could not have been better. The package in the mail and then opening the package and finding that sippy cup was a good distraction from the crying fit James was having at the moment.

BPA Bottle Buy Back at BRU

Today (Sunday) I returned 10 Dr. Brown's bottles to my BRU in Clearwater, FL. These bottles were purchased 18-24 months ago and I did not have a receipt. I called first and spoke with a manager who said yes they would take them. When I got to the store the cashier asked the nearest manager (not the one I spoke to on the phone) about it but she didn't want to refund them saying that there was not a recall on the bottles. The person I spoke with on the phone was not in the store when I went (just 30 minutes after my phone call. I think he was outside on a break) When I said I had called and been told they would take them back the female manger relented and gave the cashier the okay. They gave me credit for 3-3 packs and a single. The total was $47.04. I was saving the bottles in case we have a second baby but I wouldn’t use those bottles again anyway because of the BPA.

For more see Freebies 4 Mom

It seems that some BRU and TRU are taking them but the majority are not. Some people have contacted the BRU head office and been told that they are NOT taking these bottles back. See the comments section of Freebies4mom for more information.

CVS Visit #3

So, I am finally understanding why people get hooked on CVSing. This was third trip in as many weeks. I was able to buy some things I already use regularly and spend very little. I waited until Saturday to go because I just wasn't organized enough to go earlier in the week. All of the tags for the current week had been removed so I was worried about getting the correct price but a manager at the first store I went to assured me that the prices would still ring up correctly and they did!

Here is what I bought:

1 Dial Soap (3 pack), $1.99, -.60 Mfg. QPN
1 Garnier Fructis Conditioner, $2.99, -1.00 Mfg. QPN
1 Garnier Fructis Shampoo, $2.99, -1.00 Mfg. QPN
1 Clear Care (2-12 oz pack), $13.99

I used a $5.00/$15.00 from iheartcvs (but now I can not find them on her site(edit: http://wikisend.com/download/547730/5off15_8onpage.pdf )) and $16.97 in ECB and made $6.00 in ECB. My OOP was $2.38. The best part is that I actually made money on this transaction today because the Clear Care has a rebate of $9.00.

I love this post by Kristen at BeCentsAble that gives you the best diaper deals with coupons!

There were some great coupons in Sundays paper for Huggies Diapers, baby soaps and shampoos. If you didn't get the Sunday paper you might want to see if you can get the coupons from someone who did.

I recently purchased the All You magazine from Wal-Mart. It cost me $1.99 locally but I know it sells elsewhere for $1.79. I still think it was worth the money because of all the coupons inside. There was a Colgate $1.50 off and a free Adidas Deodorant coupon.

19 cent diapers at Wal-Mart

I went to Wal-Mart on Hwy 19 at Coachman Rd. this afternoon and found a good deal on Pampers Baby Dry. They had all of the size 2, 3, 4 and 5 marked down to $14.00. I bought 2 packages of the size 4, 68 count, diapers for $14.00 then used a $2.00 off coupon when you buy 2 packs. It was 20 cents each before the coupon and 19 cents per diaper with the coupon. Not too bad for Pampers. The larger boxes of Pampers were not marked down only the smaller sizes.

Wal-Mart also had all of their White Cloud brand diapers marked down. 124, size 2, White Clouds were $10.00 (12 cents per diaper) although they did not ring up this way. I had to get the head cashier to give me the correct price. The woman in line behind me was very perturbed that it was taking so long but unless she wants to pay for my stuff she can just wait!

Deal on Boudreaux’s Butt Paste

My friend KaleighMarie said that Boudreaux’s Butt Paste rings up at $8.99 for the big tub that is normally $16.99 at the Super Target on Gulf to Bay. There is a $1.00 off coupon out there that I can't find right now but even without the coupon it's a great deal!

CVS coupon

http://thewashingtonpost.newspaperdirect.com and register you get it free for 7 days and in the search on the left put in cvs/pharmacy and click on pg 128 and scroll down and there is a coupon to print out. Hover over the print button and click print custom area and start in the corner and drag till you highlight the coupon and then print! As many as you need!

Walgreens and RR

Has anyone found a Walgreens around them that will let you buy gift cards with the RR? I asked 2 places around me and, Main st. dunedin, Sunset Pt. and Belcher, and they haven't done that yet. The one on Sunset was a little rude, he was almost hateful for us moms trying to save $! Our RR say May exclude so the option is out there!

Albertsons

There is a malt o meal IP for $1.50 and $1 I was able to print 2 of each. You can print multiple coupons sometimes by clicking the back arrow. At Albertson they have there 3 day sale (fri, sat, and sun.) for 3/$7 bags of malt o meal cereal and get a gallon of milk (up to $4) free. So you pay $3.50 for 3 bags of cereal and gallon of milk!

I will be figuring out my plan to cvs today and will let you know! Wish me luck! (It scares me!) LOL!

Walgreens

I went to walgreens last night and it went really well. I purchased on my first transaction the smart start cereal for 4/$10 used 2 $3 off 2 coupons and got it $4 oop and got back $2 RR.

2. I bought 4 dove minis used 2 Buy 1 Get 1 free coupons and then 2 $1.50 coupons, and the $1 off 2 from the easy saver (which took off $2), so that came to $1, then I got 2 colgate max toothpastes, used a $1 coupon and a .75 coupon plus the easy saver and got both for .25. and i got the buy one get one vitamins for 8.99. So my total was $11.36 used 10 RR (that I got from last weeks deals) and pd $1.36 oop!

Tonight I plan to go to another Walgreens (they ran out of the vitamins at this store) to do

3. Two vitmins at 8.99 plus Pert plus with $1 coupon and get a rebate receipt to get $2.50 back. And use $10 RR So out of pocket will only be a couple dollars.

4. Two vitamins at 8.99, Breath Right strips 3.99 use $3 easy saver coupon, (.99) then get 4 Cottenelle wipes at 2/$4 which will make them $8. I got 2 save $2 on 2 from the catalina when I bought the charmin last week, and use 3 .50 coupons which will make them $2.50 for 4 packs. I will use the last of my $10 RR and pay only a few dollars out of pocket!

CVS Try 2

So, I went to CVS today and it went much better this week than last week. For $1.51 I purchased 3 Colgate toothpaste tubes, 1 Aquafresh, 1 Schick Intuition razor and 3 Soy Joy bars. I used $10 ECBs and made $14.99 ECBs. I used coupons for everything plus the "get $4 off when you spend $20" CVS coupon.

I also searched several CVS stores looking for the Hawaiian Tropic Lip balm. Finally, at the 3rd (in Trinity, about 30 minutes from my house (I had to go up there anyway)) store I found it and earned $10 ECBs there. If I had been better organized I could have used some ECBs to cover the cost ($1.99 each) but I wasn't well organized so I just paid it out of pocket.

Between the 3 transactions at CVS in two weeks I have spent about $22 and currently have about $20 in ECBs to spend. Not to bad but I am not thrilled with purchasing stuff I would not normally purchase. I will stick with it over the next few weeks and if I can continue to have very little out of pocket it will be worth it to stock up on things.

(Edited to add MamaSavesMoney found the Hawaiian Tropic lip balm at a store in Dunedin at the corner of 580 and Keene/CR1)

Free card stock/scrap paper for scrapbooking

Ok first let me say that I had started this project back in 2000 when I got married! I ordered all of these catalogs for ideas for wedding invitations. I would then pick a few and order samples to be mailed to me to review-I then thought it would be great to save these samples and use them for scrap paper, borders etc for photos and scrapbooking. I have a small box full of freebies that I am currently using. I am going to contact some current companies and try and pick more child friendly backgrounds and colors to use for my baby boy scrapbook that I am working on. I will post more later once I see some results. Happy scrapping!

CVSing attempt (Stacy)

So I tried going to CVS today and it just didn't work like I expected.

I purchased:

Venus Embrace Razor, $9.99 on sale, -$4.00 coupon, $5.00 ECB, total 0.99
Colgate 360 Toothbrush, $3.99, -$1,00 coupon, $3.99 ECB, total overage of $1.00

If I had only purchased those 2 things t would have been okay.

CVS Petroleum Jelly, $3.49
Good N Plenty, $0.88

and the real disappointment was Zyrtec for Children. Walgreen's advertised it at $5.49 and CVS matched the price but I bought the wrong kind and did not earn any ECB's. I think I am going to return the Zyrtec. I only purchased it because I thought I was going to get ECB's and because I wanted to James to try it.

My total OOP was $17.89 and I earned $8.99 in ECBs. I didn't realize that you can not carry over any ECB's. So in order to use my ECB that says $5.00 I have to use the whole $5.00 at once.

I am interested to read what others have bought with ECB's. I know Laurie had some success with CVSing. Hopefully she will post about it and Heather will post about some of her great ideas on how to get paper for scrap booking from invitation makers.
